1 All Feather Downs puppies come with a Florida Health certificate provided by a Board Certified Veterinarian, as well as copies of both parents' health clearances. The puppy's health is guaranteed for 72 hours from the date and time of purchase, during which time you are encouraged to have your new puppy examined by your regular Board Certified Veterinarian. If it is determined by your vet that the puppy is not in good general health, simply provide a written veterinarian statement and your entire purchase price will be refunded. 2 The puppies do come with their first two sets of vaccinations and are checked for internal parasites and de-wormed at 3,6, & 8 weeks of age. They are also started on heartworm prevention at the age of 5 weeks. There are additional puppy vaccines that will be needed up until 16 weeks of age as well as continued health care you must be willing to commit to. 3 All of our pet puppies which serve as family companions are sold on AKC Limited Registration. 4 Our pet puppies are guaranteed to be free of non-functional hip dysplasia to the age of 12 months. 5 All dogs that we choose in our breeding program have their Hips and Elbows OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) tested as well as the Eyes Cleared from inheritable eye Disorders. This is done by a Board Certified Veterinary of Ophthalmologist (AVCO). The tests that have been done on all breeding stock is carefully reviewed several generations back on each side. Unfotunately, as with any living creature it is impossible to determine with total certainty that all puppies will be completely free from any disorder. There are also outside factors that play a role in the health of your puppy, such a nutrition (over nutrition as well as under nutrition), and exercise (over exercise as well as under exercise). We will help to give the best information to eliminate any of these possibilities.
Our puppies come with a head start in housebreaking due to the fact they they are already familiar with crate training practices. We strongly recommend the use of a crate. It provides your new puppy with a safe place or a 'den', and it gives you a wonderful advantage when training your puppy to eliminate outside. We offer other valuable tips to help you and your puppy have an easy transition time with each other. Although we are happy to provide valuable information on our website, we DO NOT sell our puppies or conduct the interviewing process over the internet. Please feel free to initially e-mail for more information, but expect to interview over the phone or in person. We believe very strongly that a prospective buyer should visit the home of any breeder they are considering. Puppy buyers should observe the living conditions of the puppy and the cleanliness of the home they were raised in. Prospective families should spend time with the adult dogs on premises and visit with the breeder before deciding if this puppy is right for them.
